NVIDIA and IIIT Hyderabad Announce Inauguration of Visual Computing Lab

NVIDIA Corporation and the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad announced the inauguration of the NVIDIA Visual Computing Lab.

The lab will provide the students and the institute with state of the art equipment, software licenses and the requisite know how to further the research in the field of GPU engineering and visual computing.

"This lab will be a great asset to the students and the faculty as they delve in more and more research on cutting edge engineering as well as advanced GPU technologies such as CUDA," said Jen-Hsun Huang, President and CEO, NVIDIA Corporation.

In addition, part of the research in the lab will be focused on massively parallel programming and utilizing the explosive computational power of the GPU for exciting new fields such as keyword detection in videos, etc.
