Logica Instates New Facility in Chennai

Logica, an IT and business services company, recently inaugurated its new facility in Chennai, the second centre in India.

The new Chennai centre will support the company’s future offshore growth providing services in the areas of Business Process Outsourcing, Remote Infrastructure Management, and Application Services.

The facility inaugurated by Andy Green, Global Chief Executive, Logica, and Logica’s Executive Committee, is spread across 120,000 sq ft with the capacity for 1,500 employees. The company has earmarked an investment of around 8 million pounds to accelerate blended delivery and grow its offshore and nearshore centres. It plans to have 8,000 employees in these centres by the end of 2009.

“India is a key strategic market for Logica and the new facility in Chennai will further accelerate the deployment of our successful blended global delivery model. As the centre grows we will build specific competency areas based on client requirements. The investment climate, facilities and talent available in Chennai are excellent,” said Andy Green.

Currently the Logica facility in Bangalore houses about 3000 employees and provides the full spectrum of system integration and outsourcing services, including System Design, Applications and Product Development, Applications Management, Infrastructure Management and Business Process Outsourcing.
