Nokia Unleashes N96 in India

 

 

Nokia, this week, launched its most advanced multimedia device-Nokia N96 in the Indian market.

The phone has a large 2.8 inch screen and 16 GB of internal memory that can be upgraded to 24 GB. It can play a wide range of formats like MPEG-4, WMV and Flash. A TV tuner enables watching digital TV on the move. Multimedia is the USP of this handset.

It has a 5 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, which helps in capturing DVD like video. It has a 3.5 mm headphone connector and also in built stereo speakers. Nokia is marketing the N96 as a “multimedia computer truly optimized for video and TV”. It has the ability to store 18,000 songs and 60 hours of video.

“Today, in the Web 2.0 Era, the new Nokia N96 places the power to shape the Internet in your hands, in addition to being to the ultimate entertainment gadget. The Nokia N96 offers the most personalized mobile Internet experience to date. It defines convergence by blending phone and multimedia options seamlessly," said Devinder Kishore, Director-Marketing, Nokia India.

The phone will be available from September 15 in India at a retail price of Rs 34,999.
