Sun Microsystems today officially opened the first Authorized Sun Solution Center in Asia South.
Located in Ingram Micro Asia Ltd, Singapore, this new facility is set to function as an extended arm of its Sun Solution Center and is targeted to cater to the needs of companies, especially Small and Medium Businesses, for product demonstrations and for building proofs-of-concept.
This facility is also open to both system integrators and corporate end-users.
According to Sun, this center offers customers resources to help them effectively make purchasing and implementation decisions, and improve total cost of ownership. It also features a rich array of products, programs, solutions, and partners to deliver targeted customer-driven horizontal and vertical solutions to help improve business processes.

Customers and partners can expect access Sun technologies like the Solaris 10 Operating System and Sun Fire servers, as well as core competencies such as competitive analysis and best practices to ensure Sun's innovations are deployed in the most efficient manner possible. The center also offers collaborative workshops, solution architectures, proof-of-concepts and prototyping, blueprints, system architectures, performance testing, and benchmarking, among other customer-oriented aids.
Sun's partnership with Ingram Micro for this facility enables customer and partners including Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and SIs to have 360 degree views of their IT projects--from planning to testing to deploying. The center has a real-world environment that customers can leverage to quickly and securely solve integration challenges and promote interoperability across multi-vendor solutions.
