IBM has launched the quick to install version of its Tivoli and Rational software designed to help organisations with 1,000 to 5,000 staff to manage networks and standardise software development and delivery practices.
IBM said it has added technology it acquired with Micromuse in 2006 into its Tivoli Network Manager IP Entry Edition. The software finds network elements that help IT managers to understand the network capacity they have and what they will need to support new applications and services.
In a prepared press release IBM said, using existing SNMP agents on managed devices, the software taps Micromuse technology, or Netcool fault management software, to pinpoint the source of performance problems or network failures.
"This software is best-of-breed but can install quickly," says Michele Grieshaber, director of channel strategy for Tivoli.
From its Rational software group, IBM announced software to help developers build and deliver applications in a standard, repeatable and compliant fashion. |
