Fujitsu’s 32-bit Microcontroller To Integrate Automotive CAN Networks

Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd has announced the new offerings of its MB91460 Series of 32-bit microcontrollers for automotive applications with the new MB91F467BA product that can integrate several in-vehicle CAN networks.

With this product’s 6-channel CAN controller it is possible to realise interconnection and gateway functionality among CAN networks of different speeds, or between CAN and FlexRay. Thus it is possible for control over combinations of various in-vehicle networks.

The MB91F467BA microcontroller has 1 MegaByte Flash Memory and 32 channels A/D Converter as basic function, and can also be used as a main microcontroller for automotive dashboard control and automotive body control.

In recent years, for automobile body and handling control, systems using CAN have been widely adopted, while the speed of in-vehicle networks has increased and the connecting equipment has become very diverse. Subsequently within the ECUs that controls each electronic component, for the body control ECUs, there is an increasing necessity to control the whole in-vehicle network.

Fujitsu is responding to such needs by adding to the MB91460 Series the MB91F467BA microcontroller providing an industry top-level high-speed processing at 100MHz, and which has not only body control functionality but with gateway functionality it allows integration of several in-vehicle CAN networks.
