PHP 5.2.2RC1 Released for Testing |

Ilia Alshanetsky has declared that the first release candidate of PHP 5.2.2RC1 is available for download now.
He says that the focus of the release was twofold. The first goal was to stabilize the language, with over 60 bug fixes. The second goal was to improve the security of the language through an internal audit as well as by addressing previously unknown bugs identified by MOPB.
He rationalizes that these goals result in a rather extensive set of changes, so testing is critical to make sure no new bugs or regressions were introduced. To achieve this result he has asked everyone to give this RC a shot with their code base to ensure there are no problems.
