HCL Launches Environment-Friendly Laptops |

HCL Infosystems, India's largest domestic makers of computers and laptops has introduced a new range eco-efficient consumer and business notebooks that are compliant with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive. As a result of this compliance, these HCL notebooks are completely safe for users and environment in general, the company claimed.
According to HCL, the new range of RoHS compliant HCL notebooks includes:
- High Performance HCL Leaptop Z & U Series based on Intel Core2 Duo processors
- Super Efficient HCL Leaptop X & D Series based on Intel Centrino Duo technology
- Dual Core HCL Notebook K & P series based on Intel Pentium Dual Core
- Value for Money HCL Notebook S & L Series based on Intel Celeron processors
George Paul, Executive Vice President, HCL Infosystems Limited said, “E-waste has been a subject of concern globally and nationally. HCL, as a socially responsible corporate citizen, has a comprehensive program to ensure protection of environment, health and safety of all its stakeholders, which also recognises the need to minimise the hazardous impact of e-wastes of its products on the environment. As part of this program, we had initiated voluntary compliance to RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directives for all our products. Today, we are happy to announce full RoHS-compliance of the new range of HCL laptops being manufactured in our plants.”
