php_installer 1.6 for PHP 5.2.1 Released

Ross in a new post over the Smithii blog, announces the availability of php_installer 1.6 for PHP 5.2.1. He says, that php_installer is an NSIS installer, which he used to download and install PHP 5.2.1, PECL and the PHP CHM manual can be found here.

He explains that to download the binary you can click here and the binary with the source can be found here.

He lists some of the php_installer changelog. The version 1.6 is updated to PHP 5.2.1 and Zend Optimizer is updated to v 3.2.2. Also, it informs that version 1.5 has added Zend Optimizer 3.2.0 and changed ordering of installation types.

He gives the following options, which are planned to be implemented in a future version:

• Save downloaded files in directory
• Set proxy settings
• Number of times to retry each download before reporting failure
• Install icons for all users. This is the default if the user is an administrator
• Install icons for the current user only
