Unisys has become the first systems integrator to join the newly formed Open Solutions Alliance (OSA). The OSA is a non-profit, vendor-neutral consortium dedicated to driving adoption of open source business solutions. Unisys goal, within the OSA, is to bring application and systems integration expertise not only to the community and the alliance’s existing partners, but to all enterprises looking to leverage the advantages of open source software, the company stated.
As the demand for affordable open source business solutions continues to grow, Unisys is positioned to help enterprises leverage the power of open source to improve interoperability and ease-of-integration in their IT operations.
“Unisys has a lot of experience building the market for business-hardened open source solution suites,” said Barry Klawans, OSA spokesperson and chief technology officer at JasperSoft, a provider of open source business intelligence. “Unisys is very excited to be a part of the OSA, and we feel very strongly that our expertise in all facets of mission-critical vertical solutions, utilising open source and open standards, will bring great value to the Alliance,” said Anthony Gold, vice president and general manager, Open Source Business, Unisys. “As companies look to migrate toward and modernise with open environments, they will require open source applications to adhere to certain interoperability standards. Unisys has a lot of experience as a leading product developer and systems integrator, from the operating system to the application stack, and everything in-between.”
