Francois Zaninotto, over the Symfony web site has announced the release of the stable version of Symfony 1.0. The 1.0 is not just another release he says; it has become more mature, faster, configurable and extendable than before.
He says that it is an ‘enterprise’ release, which means that this version will be maintained for several years. He further informs that when a new release of PHP comes with new changes Symfony 1.0 will be updated to make it compatible. Also, if a bug is found and corrected in one of the components of Symfony 1.0, it will update in the stable release, he explains.
To install this new version, you can go to the book installation chapter or checkout the SVN repository.
