Recently Samsung unleashed its 2008 second-half digital camera line-up with the launch of four new compact point-and-shoot models - the Samsung TL34HD, TL9, SL310W and SL201.

The flagship of this line up is the TL34HD. It has a 14.7-mega-pixel resolution and 28mm wide-angle lens with 3.6x optical zoom. Though the camera is small, measuring 2.3x3.4x0.8 inches (HWD), it features a big 3-inch touch screen, which serves as both a viewfinder for framing your shots and as the camera's main control system. The Samsung TL34HD builds upon the success of its predecessor, NV24HD, with the ability to capture high-definition video at a resolution of 720p along with Dual Image Stabilization (Optical + Digital). It also incorporates a high-performance DRIM Engine image processor.

The TL9 is a 10-mega-pixel camera with 2.7-inch LCD, 5x optical zoom and dual image stabilization. It features MP3 and Personal Media Player (PMP) capability, and measures 3.74 x 2.36 x 0.84 inches. Dual analog gauges have been placed next to the power button on top of the camera’s body, and they display remaining battery life and memory capacity.

The next model on the list is the SL310W, a 13.6-mega pixels digital camera featuring a 2.7-inch LCD and a 3.6x, 28mm wide-angle optical zoom lens. Unlike a standard 35mm lens commonly found on compact digital cameras, the SL310W's 28mm wide-angle lens gives users the ability to capture moving images, landscapes and groups of people. It offers a number of user-friendly features, including 11 scene modes, auto red eye fix and MPEG-4 video recording and other features such as Self Portrait, Face Detection, Blink Detection, and Smile Shot technology.

Finally, the SL201 rounds out Samsung’s new offerings. The Samsung SL201 is described as an ultra-slim point-and-shoot with a 10-megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch LCD screen. Featuring Face Detection, Self Portrait, and Digital Image Stabilization, the Samsung SL201 is something as rare as a low-end 10-megapixel camera.

All four digital camera models including TL34HD, TL9, SL310W and SL201 will be available in September for a price of USD 329.95, USD 279.95, USD 229.95 and USD 169.95 respectively.
