Dell has launched thin client computers for large and midsize companies that are looking to shift to computers that work on central servers rather than traditional desktops. The thin clients, scheduled to be launched in November, are targeted at mass users of servers.
Dell claimed the newly launched on demand computers can reduce IT labour by upto 56 per cent.
The computers come with OptiPlex 745 and 755 desktops, a PowerEdge 2950 server, a PowerConnect Gigabit switch, Citrix Provisioning Sever for Desktops software, and a PowerEdge 2900 storage server. The thin client has no disk drives.
Dell has priced these thin clients at USD 1,100 per user. |
