Eyeing the segment popularised by BlackBerry, Nokia unveiled a phone for corporate users. Nokia, said it expects to fast growth in the mobile e-mail market.

Nokia, the world’s top mobilephone maker by sales and revenues, said the E51 will be globally available later this year. The phone will be priced above USD 485.

The phone integrates with office PBX systems and comes with a pre-built 2-megapixel camera, FM radio and Nokia browser. The phone is also compatible with voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) broadband applications such as Gizmo.

Nokia, based in Espoo, Finland, wants to cash in one the mobile email business whih is currently popular in Blackberry handsets. However only 2 per cent of corporate e-mail accounts are mobile, which will be a difficult position for Nokia. "We believe it will change quickly," Antti Vasara, head of device business at Nokia's enterprise unit said after the launch of the phone.

Vasara said that by 2009 there should be 880 million mobile workers using either cell phones or laptops.

"Less and less, people are bound to their desks while doing their work," he said.
