Microsoft, Google and Intel want the US to open pieces of broadcasting spectrum between TV channels to wireless devices and services.
Broadcasters don’t want that to happen. They insist it will interfere in the regular broadcast. US broadcasters group NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) and MSTV (Maximum Service Television) have petitioned the lawmakers not to open it to allow digital devices access those small spectrums.
Technology companies claim, White Space, as the spectrum is commonly known will help in better broadcasting, however the broadcaster insist it neither detects the broadcasting signals nor it helps in proper broadcasting. It also interferes in regular broadcast. |
