Monster.com, whose server was hacked last week and millions of data were stolen, has admitted that its servers were hacked even earlier.

Monster.com has also said that the data of more than 1.3 million people must have been taken out by those involved in hacking. The theft of contact information was greater than the company reported last week, Chief Executive Sal Iannuzzi said.

Some Monster.com job seekers who had posted resumes on the site have received e-mails from alleged recruiters asking for bank account number in order to complete job formalities.

Monster.com, the world's largest job site also said since the hackers did not get the kind of information needed to withdraw money from bank account, the scammers have used the available data to conduct scams.
