Linus Torvalds, the Finnish creator of Linux has ruled out the creation of a version three of Linux.
He said since Linux didn't have a marketing department there was little need to tout something as a "new and improved" version.
Praising the hardcore group of techies who worked relentlessly in introducing new features without either damaging the old code or impacting the code-base in a disruptive manner, he said the techies have been just improving everything they can, but there is never likely to be a big "Get the new-and-improved version 3!" campaign. |
