Ohio state University’s Fisher College of Business will play host to a seminar by Christopher Judd on the forthcoming Eclipse Callisto simultaneous release on June 21st, 2006. Up until recently, however, Eclipse only supported basic Java development tools. Tools for developing complex Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) applications were provided by vendors at a cost. However, this has recently changed and now the Eclipse Foundation offers a suite of projects ideal for JEE development. Judd will talk about developing Java Enterprise Edition (EE) applications using the Eclipse platform and nine other Eclipse projects that make up the Callisto release, namely:
Web Tools Platform (WTP)
Test and Performance Tools Platform (TPTP)
Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT)
Data Tools
C/C++ Tools
Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF)
Graphical Modeling Framework (GMF)
Graphical Editor Framework (GEF)
Visual Editor (VE)
You can register for the seminar by paying a participation fee of .99.
