Rediscovering the joys of using Eclipse and reacquainting with the user friendly features of the IDE seems to be the flavour of the week.
It was just yesterday that we reported Yuav Shapira's comment on the improved features in Eclipse 3.2.2, and today we have another user citing more reasons to love Eclipse. Says Miro, who worked on Eclipse again after two years, "It was such a great feeling to work with Eclipse again. It felt just right, right away - a nice, well polished, extremely user friendly and pleasant experience."
According to him, the great things about Eclipse are the rich refactoring support, helper methods, and seamlessly integrated source code management systems. He adds while in the past that Eclipse posed problems with memory requirements and speed, now since most machines are 2 GB, dual core box, on which "Eclipse is just flying"
He adds that when compared to Visual Studio, Eclipse has a much better configurability. Since there is no install required, all you need is to unzip files into proper location and restart the IDE to try out new add-ins.
