At EclipseWorld in Boston, AccuRev unveiled significant new features for its AccuBridge for Eclipse plug-in. AccuBridge for Eclipse provides developers utilizing their familiar Eclipse IDE integration platform a transparent, stable and highly functional environment to directly access AccuRev Software Configuration Management (SCM) functionality to increase the agility, reliability and quality of their complex, geographically distributed and parallel development process.
AccuBridge for Eclipse helps increase the visibility of project activities, showing what projects are under AccuRev control, as well as file status (backed, stale, or overlapped) within Eclipse. All common AccuRev SCM functionality and searches are also available within Eclipse so that developers, releases engineers and managers have direct access and can query the AccuRev server for the latest source code changes.
New performance and usability enhancements within AccuBridge for Eclipse include:
AccuRev project wizard: Eclipse users now have several convenient ways to browse and locate existing, and create new Eclipse project source code in the AccuRev repository (depot) within Eclipse.
Support for diff and merge operations: Eclipse users may now use the native Eclipse code diff tool and use AccuRev's advanced inheritance merging capabilities directly within the Eclipse Team menu.
Additional usability enhancements: Synchronization workspace view, project-level status indicator icons, diff functionality exposed through the Eclipse "compare with" menu, and more.
"AccuRev continues to provide the most powerful, agile and efficient SCM solution based on open standards to improve the productivity of our entire customer base and their preferred tools," says Cliff Utstein, vice president of marketing, AccuRev, Inc. "Developers using the Eclipse IDE will be pleased with the transparent level of AccuRev SCM functionality available to them with this latest release." Availability AccuBridge for Eclipse is available directly from AccuRev.
