Speak Out on the 2007 Release Train Name
There is a fresh survey doing the rounds for the 2007 release train name. Originally proposed as "Europa" by Bjorn Freeman-Benson, the name is now circumspect as pointed out in this comment by Michael Scharf in in bug #147754. "Europa is a bad name, because "Europa" is the word for Europe in most Germanic, Romance, and Slavic Languages. For non native speakers it can become very confusing to see messages like "Europa Build Workshop", which reads for some non-native speakers like "European build workshop" and people are really surprised why a European build workshop takes place in
Portland/Oregon/USA!"

The result of the discussion is a fresh survey. The naming scheme is based on the moons of Jupiter, and the candidates have been gathered via bug #147754:
  • Elara
  • Hegemone
  • Leda
  • Himalia
  • Orthosie
  • Eukelade
  • Megaclite
  • Europa

Before you make your choice, you may also want to note that the discussion centered around a few issues:
  • Tongue Twister. The name should be easy to pronounce.
  • Unambiguous. The name should be easy to Google for, i.e., a low number of false positives.
  • Not a Continent. The name should not be confused with a country or continent.

Go ahead, take the survey, and let your voice be heard.
