Version 1.5.2 of the XML Security Plug-in has been released. Eclipse XML Security Plug-In allows users to experiment with complex W3C recommendations on digital signatures and encryption with the Extensible Markup Language and to gather information about their theoretical background. Arbitrary XML documents can be canonicalized, signed, verified as well as encrypted and decrypted inside Eclipse and the users’ XML editor plug-in. The plug-in’s main intention is to let users experiment with all possible features of XML security in an easy and interesting way and to provide a tool to learn all about the extensive W3C recommendations. The XML Security Plug-In requires Eclipse 3.1 or 3.2 (an older version is available for Eclipse 3.0) and Java 5.0. Basic cryptography knowledge (both digital signatures and encryption) and basic XML knowledge are required too.
