microTool has announced the release of objectiF 7.0, an integrated platform for Model Driven Development (MDD), with service-oriented applications. The new version, which is to be released in the fourth quarter of 2006, will support business process modeling in the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN). With the modeling of business logic based on new OMG standards, the user will be able to use his own or partner’s web services.
The tool comes with Reverse Engineering features for web services. BPMN diagrams can be transformed with the tool into executable code of Business Process Execution Language (BPEL). The new OMG standard not only defines a diagram language for business processes, it also specifies rules for the transformation of diagrams in BPLL. Generated BPLL enables the direct execution of modeled processes on BPEL engines. Process Deployment Description (PDD) files for distribution and addressing of web services on BPEL engines are also produced.
The new features extend those already existing in the tool for MDD in frameworks using Java, C# and C++, such as:
Central, multi-user capable and active repository
Extended modeling functions for professional development
Model-Driven Development according to MDA/MDD with frameworks
Code generation
Seamless integrations with Visual Studio and Eclipse
Generation of documentation
Syntax-sensitive code editor with IntelliSense
Interfaces

objectiF 7.0 will be available in three variants: the Eclipse Edition for Java development, Visual Studio .NET Edition for .NET development and Enterprise Edition for Java, .NET and C++ development.
