Creating a Web Application with JavaServer Faces Tools

This week, the Eclipse Corner Article at Eclipse.org deals with the JavaServer Faces (JSF) Tools project. Raghu Srinivasan from Oracle teaches you how to create and execute a web application with JavaServer Faces capabilities. Raghu will also highlight the features of the WTP JSF Tooling project that has helped in improving JSP source editing and validation, along with simplified application building, configuration and execution.

Prerequisites for the tutorial include:

  • Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) 1.4
  • Eclipse Web Tools Platform Project 1.5 RC3
  • JavaServer Faces Tools Milestone RC3 Development build
  • Apache Tomcat 5.5
  • JavaServer Faces R1 v1.1.01
  • JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library

Raghu also recommends reading the 'Building and Running a Web Application' tutorial before attempting this one, as it covers the setup of the server instance.
