JBoss has unveiled JBoss Rules 3.0 with a new Eclipse Workbench plug-in. JBoss Rules is an open source and standards-based business rules engine that enables easy business policy access, change and management. JBoss Rules is said to be a fast and highly efficient rules engine that makes it easy for a business analyst or auditor to view business rules as encoded in an enterprise’s IT application infrastructure to verify that the encoded rules indeed implement the documented business policies.
The new version is an implementation of the RH width unit algorithm for Java. By adapting RETE within an object-oriented interface, JBoss Rules 3.0 enables the natural expression of business rules. In addition, it is written in Java and runs in .NET.
Key features of JBoss Rules 3.0 include:
Application simplification and agility
Efficiency and scalability
Knowledge base transfer
Rules reusability across applications and SOA
Professional support
JBoss Rules 3.0 also comes equipped with the support for first-rate logics, a new DRL language with simple DSL extensions, and 20 performance revisions of the previous versions.
