Software & Support Media has nominated ten projects, which are in the running for the JAX Innovation Award. The jury, comprising Sun Ambassador Daniel Adelhardt, Java Magazin authors Adam Bien, Erich Gamma, Analystin Bola Rotibi and Java Magazin/Eclipse Magazin editor-in-chief Sebastian Meyen selected the following submissions from 48 potentials:

The JAX Innovation Award recompenses the best contribution to Java and Eclipse from Europe. Submitted entries were broken down into the following categories: an innovative product, a technology, an open source project, an idea, a concept, a book or any other valuable contribution. Innovation, creativity, elegance and relevance to practice are considered the most important criteria for decision. JAX 2006 takes place from 8th to 12th May, 2006, at the same time as Enterprise Architektur Konferenz and the Eclipse Forum Europe in Weisbaden, Germany.
The prize money raised altogether is 20,000 Euro, which is divided into prizes of 10,000, 5,000, and 2,000 Euro each and two of 1,000 Euro. Further, a prize of 1,000 Euro will be awarded to the best submission to JAX, Enterprise Architektur Konferenz and Eclipse Forum Europe together.
